We empower young refugees to claim their rights to health, safety, and dignity by documenting violations, building evidence-based advocacy campaigns, and holding duty-bearers accountable:
Our approach allows us to gain insights from conversations held in local languages, and on a scale previously unattainable for qualitative methods. We leverage technology as an enabler for civic empowerment, using it to engage with, not extract from, citizens.
We spark dynamic and inclusive discussions in popular forums, including radio and social media which engage citizens on their own terms and language. Working with carefully selected and locally trusted media partners, we develop open-ended questions for audiences.
We design our projects for impact. By this, we mean that we always have the ultimate objective in mind: for citizen's voices to influence and shape policy and programmes towards their realities.
We follow a systematic approach that ensures community engagement, data-driven insights, and sustainable impact in all our projects.
We begin by understanding the community needs, existing challenges, and opportunities for intervention through comprehensive research and stakeholder engagement.
Based on research findings, we design tailored interventions that address specific community needs while leveraging technology and media for maximum reach.
We execute our programs through community partnerships, utilizing radio, social media, and direct engagement to reach and empower target populations.
We continuously monitor and evaluate our programs to measure impact, gather feedback, and ensure our interventions are creating lasting positive change.
Our approach is guided by fundamental principles that ensure ethical, effective, and sustainable community development.
Every intervention is designed with and for the community, ensuring local ownership and cultural relevance in all our programs.
We uphold human rights principles, particularly focusing on women's and girls' rights to health, education, and self-determination.
We prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants, maintaining strict ethical standards in research and program implementation.
Our programs are designed for long-term impact, building local capacity and creating systems that continue to benefit communities beyond our direct involvement.
A successful example of our approach in action, demonstrating how we engage communities through media and technology.
Between March and August 2023, we executed an interactive radio series across Somalia in collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC). The project engaged citizens and gathered insights on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services.
The project successfully validated findings through focus group discussions and ensured minority voices were included in the analysis. This approach demonstrated the effectiveness of combining media engagement with traditional research methods.
